I had lunch and left the ship which was docked in Passeau which is situated at the area where the Danube, Ilz and Inn Rivers meet. I wandered through the streets window shopping, grabbed an ice cream and headed back. I had packing to do before dinner and thought I’d just relax.

When I reached the area where the ship was moored, it was gone. You can imagine my shock. I looked around thinking I might have been in the wrong place but I wasn’t. The little cafe I stopped in earlier to grab a water was in the same place. I recognized the statue in front, the flowers and the chair where I had my water. Where the hell was the ship. I felt vulnerable to say the least. I had left my passport, and most of my credit cards and my money in the safe in my room. I hadn’t brought my cell phone as it didn’t work consistently. There were other ships on the River but not mine.

Luckily, I passed a couple who were also passengers and they told me the ship had been moved.

There was a booth about a block away where I stopped and asked if they had any idea what happened to the Uniworld ship. The man checked a list and told me he had no idea. I thought further and asked for him to look for the ship River Beatrice. That he found. He told me to walk about a mile further as the ship moved there.“You found us didn’t you,” was the response of the Cruise Program Manager aboard the River Beatrice from the UNIWORLD line. I boarded the ship after walking endlessly looking for the ship. I knew where it was docked earlier. I left the boat there

Do not dismiss your taxi until you have positively located the ship. The ship’s docking location is at the discretion of port authorities, and your ship’s Captain can be ordered to move the ship without notice.
